What our Clients are Saying About our Trail Work

"For a family who loves riding bikes, having Arrowhead Trails build a pump track in our backyard was a dream come true. Arrowhead Trails and his crew did a superb job of laying out, excavating and sculpting the track. The pump track is simple to ride, exhilarating, and a great workout. We've found it to be accessible to all skill levels since it can be ridden at any speed. We've had everyone we know, from young kids to decades-long mountain bikers ride the pump track, and they all love it. The more we ride it, the better our bike handling skills have become, so that pumping the bike over rollers instead of pedaling and cornering through bermed turns has become a fluid and fast, super fun, endurance challenge. Anyone who can pedal a bike will have fun riding a pump track. As parents, we strongly believe that every town should have one in their park alongside the swing sets and basketball courts."

"Imagine my surprise to find out we had almost 42 miles of single track trail when our current management plan called for only 1.5 miles. After coming to Lake Pueblo State Park four years ago, I learned a very energetic group of equestrians and mountain bikers had constructed trails on the park without permission. One of my 1st steps was to get Arrowhead Trails involved. Usually, a trails management plan is completed before the trails are built, not the other way around. Definitely this was going to be a unique challenge. Nonetheless, we needed a new trails management plan ASAP. The professional services offered by Arrowhead Trails and their work history with Colorado State Parks made them the simple and logical choice. Arrowhead Trails staff and Danna Lambert completed a GIS inventory of the trails (42 MILES OF TRAIL!), prepared trail maps, and offered an extensive list of recommendations. All of which is going to be the foundation of our new trails management plan. They did an excellent job for me and they will do an excellent job for you. Thanks, Arrowhead Trails!"

"Arrowhead Trails has now designed and constructed over 11 miles of sustainable trail for us in a span of three years and two different projects. Our expectations were well exceeded each time. Arrowhead Trails are great to work with. They allowed us to be intimately involved in the entire process, explained every detail, and worked WITH us rather than FOR us to ensure that we were absolutely satisfied with the finished product. One of our goals was to minimize impact on the surrounding habitat and wildlife. That goal fits perfectly with sustainable trails and fell right in line with Arrowheads philosophy of Mother Earth being the most important client. The end result are trails that get rave reviews from bikers, hikers, and runners. One of the best things about Arrowhead Trails is that they will not just build a trail and disappear. They are passionate about their work and have been back several times to check on the trails, help with routine maintenance, and answer any questions we may have. They are incredibly accessible and are more like friends rather than contractors; plus, they build the best trails around."

"Arrowhead Trails is a long time International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) preferred partner. IMBA has very high standards with regard to sustainable, quality, natural surface trails. We literally wrote the book (IMBA Trail Solutions, How to Build Sweet Singletrack) on trail planning, design and construction. And Arrowhead was a significant contributor to Trail Solutions. It was Arrowhead that provided the foundation and input in the development of our award winning, flagship program, the Subaru IMBA Trail Care Crew."

"Arrowhead Trails is one of, if not the most competent trail designer and contractor of sustainable trails in the country. I know that any job that they do for me is going to be right the first time."

"In the summer of 2006 Wyoming State Parks, Historic Sites & Trails hired Arrowhead Trails, Inc. to construct IMBA standard trails at Curt Gowdy State Park. We found Arrowhead easy to work with, they completed the project ahead of deadline and most importantly produced an outstanding product. As a result, we hired Arrowhead to do the second phase of trail construction at the Park. The trail system is now three years old, the public loves it and it is holding up beautifully. As funding become available we hope to hire Arrowhead Trails, Inc. for additional trail projects within the state park system."

“The old trail system on the Air Force Academy and Farish Recreation Area was not professionally designed and the trails were generally unsustainable, required constant maintenance, and therefore saw limited usage by the public. Through a very positive multi-year relationship with the Arrowhead Trails designers and field crews, the Academy’s trail system was re-designed and expanded and the trails are now sustainable and require only infrequent routine maintenance. Trail usage has increased dramatically, especially among mountain bikers and runners, and the trails are now considered an excellent amenity for military and off-base users. It’s gratifying to now receive positive comments from the various trail users, and the Colorado Springs Gazette’s selection of the Falcon Trail as the best mountain biking trail in the region in 2006 was further recognition that the trail system now reflects the quality expected of the Air Force Academy’s facilities.”

“The staff at Arrowhead Trails are very knowledgeable, customer-oriented, and focused on providing the best, most usable and sustainable trials possible. Very flexible and fun to work with.”

"Arrowhead Trails has designed and constructed over 28 miles of soft-surface multi-use non-motorized trails for Douglas County Open Space in the last several years. The Arrowhead staff has an extraordinary talent to locate trails to maximize the experience for the trail users while minimizing impact on the land, earning them the nickname of the Michael Angelo of trails. Even in difficult terrain, the trails have proven to be very sustainable with only minimal maintenance. Open Space considers Arrowhead Trails the only contractor with the skills to construct backcountry trails in a manner that is consistent with the land ethic of the County’s open space program."

“The greatest benefits about trailbuilding are meeting new people and gaining new knowledge: different soils, unique topographies, indigenous flora/fauna, and even different styles of trail. Meeting the challenges of building sustainable trails and hearing your clients and trail users exclaiming to their friends”…… “You gotta come ride this trail!”is what trailbuilding is all about.
