International Mountain Bicycling Association
Arrowhead Trails, Inc. has been an Above and Beyond Corporate Supporter for IMBA for over a dozen years, helping train IMBA/Subaru Trail Care Crew for the first seven years and assisting with initial development of the Trail Solutions Program and the design and construction of sustainable mountain bike trails. We assisted IMBA with mountain bike trail design principals, state-of-the-art mechanized construction techniques, and risk management issues for each of these innovative, renowned trail reference books. We are graciously acknowledged in each appendix. Arrowhead Trails has provided thousands of hours of volunteer advocacy, around the world. Arrowhead Trails continues to assist IMBA with their rapidly growing overseas trail efforts, including the following international clients in the Philippines and Costa Rica.
Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, Philippines
Volunteered to work on three trail projects for Governor LRay Villafuerte. Projects included: training trail crews, master planning, GPS, designing trails, and creating an international, World-Class, mountain bike park at the Capitol of Pili, adjacent to world famous Cam Sur Watersports Complex.
Project continues today creating the longest downhill freeride trail in Asia. These lift accessed trails will ultimately descend almost 5000 feet of elevation from the upper reaches of the Mt. Isarog’s volcanic cloud forest, past amazing waterfalls and jungle cliffs, through rice paddies to the town of El Campo below. Additional trail and water based adventure eco-tourism is being developed by Governor LRay along the remote coastline of Caramoan National Park.
Singletrack Jungle, S.A., Montezuma, Costa Rica
Arrowhead Trails assisted World Champion Mountain Biker Marla Streb and her company with consulting and presentations on a project in Matapolo, Guanacaste. This project is scheduled for design and construction in 2008.
Singletrack Jungle will be working on a variety of projects in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, and assisting environmentally minded developers with World-Class, mountain bike trails and adventure ecotourism development. |
Non-Profit Organizations
Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, Colorado
Arrowhead Trails designed and constructed ADA crusher fines trails through a ropes course and around the town reservoir. Facilty is developed for participants with disabilities related to mobility and head injuries.
Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA), Denver, Colorado
Provided youth core crew leader training for eleven youth corps for three seasons. Multiple-day trainings were conducted at Sylvan Lake State Park, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, and Ridgeway State Park.
Crested Butte Land Trust, Town of Crested Butte, Colorado
Worked with 200 volunteers on National Trails Day 1999 to re-open the redesigned and constructed Lower Loop Trail. One mile singletrack, 0.5 mile of surfaced, ADA trail, and three bridges were constructed, on an historic mining property that had been closed to residents for years.
Wyoming Conservation Corps (WCC), Laramie, Wyoming
Provided multi-day training for trail crew leaders and youth corps members at Curt Gowdy State Park, outside of Laramie, Wyoming.

Developed and implemented a Trails Master Plan for the Falcon Trail (14 Miles) on campus and 3 miles in the Farish Recreation Area. Falcon Trail voted best Mountain Bike Trail in Colorado Springs 2007.
Rocky Mountain Research Station, United States Forest Service
Five miles of high altitude trail maintenance and log puncheon construction on the Diamond Lake Trail, west of Nederland, CO, in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. All work was above 10,500’ elevation and allowed no machinery or power tools.
South Platte Ranger District, United States Forest Service
ATI installed grade dips and enhance tread outslopes along the Buffalo Creek trail system to prevent erosion after the Buffalo Creek Fire (15 miles).

Consulting, design, and training on sustainable mountain biking trail system for a total of over 7 miles of trail constructed by the fabulous Long Cane Trails, LLC. South Carolina’s first state park with trails designed and built by mountain bikers for mountain bikers.
Wyoming State Parks & Historic Sites
Curt Gowdy State Park, Laramie, Wyoming
Designed and constructed 10+ miles of trail for Wyoming’s first mountain biking trail-based State Park, a pilot project for the state. Project included three bridges and construction of technical trail features, pump track and jumps. Over 60 blast charges were set to open up canyon trails.

Boulder County Parks and Open Space, Colorado
Constructed and maintained numerous trails in Boulder County: Design and supervise volunteers to construct the Eagle Wind Trail (2.5 miles) in the Rabbit Mountain Open Space.
Chaffee County, Salida & Buena Vista, Colorado
Facilitated and participated in public meetings regarding the Chaffee County trails Master Plan in 1996 & 2001.
Douglas County, Colorado
Open Space and Natural Areas, Castle Rock, Colorado

Designed 2 miles of low-grade trail for S Mountain to allow pedestrian, especially seniors, access. Route is separated from the summit road but provides safety and visibility from trail.
Summit County Open Space and Trails
Several miles of the Oro Grande Trail were rerouted over the years, mainly through USFS lands. These projects helped preserve access, and avoid the shooting range and landfill. |

City of Aspen Parks, Colorado
Projects totaling over 5 miles include: Ajax Trail, Ute Cemetery Trail, North Star Trail, Barbee Trail, Benedict Trail, Three Trees, Moore Open Space Trail. Rebuilt two bridges (150’ & 130’ spans) on the Rio Grande Trail.
City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, Colorado
Projects totaling over 5 miles of new trail include: Sensory Trail (ADA), Left Hand Trail, and the Marshall Mesa Trail connector. Routine maintenance projects include: Mt. Sanitas access, Big Blue Stem Trail. Dowdy Draw Trail, and the Foothills Trail.

25 Miles of single track mountain bike trails on a private ranch in Saint Jo, Texas, it was designed, constructed, and opened to the public in 1998. Still hosting races today and home of one of Texas’ hardest mountain bike trails – Deveil’s Backbone, 2000+ feet of climbing in a little over 4 miles.
